We are delighted to have moved into our new offices on the extremely picturesque Hexgreave Estate in rural Nottinghamshire.
It represents a landmark moment in the evolution of Leed Associates and we are proud to say that the offices reflect our brand values and beliefs as a sustainability consultancy practice.
A wood burning boiler that is fuelled using the specially grown willow crop on the estate provides the heating system. Water from the washing of potato crops is used to feed the willows, which also act as a natural filtration system. A complete environmentally-sound solution!
The forward-looking owners have also developed a unique set of live/work premises that could have been designed for a post-Corona world. As more people abandon the daily commute and seek a better work-life balance, the cost and time-saving benefits of these innovative premises stand out as a way forward as we reimagine the work places of the future.
The Estate also works with the Countryside Stewardship Scheme which encourages landowners to farm in an environmentally beneficial way such as leaving a wide margin around the edge of all fields to encourage wildlife. Planting wild bird feeding areas, usually sunflowers, in corners near woodland and lake.
In these strange times, we have spent quite a bit of time reimagining the world post-Covid and Hexgreave provides daily inspiration as forming part of that solution.
